Introducing the STRIVE Founders
David has over 20 years experience as a commercial executive and leader of change within large and complex organisations. He has driven business wide innovation programs, developed and driven new business formats / brands and led multi-billion dollar business units.
Prior to launching his own coaching and retail businesses, David worked with Coles Group Ltd, initially to help them develop and drive a new private label strategy. Subsequently, David led the $8BN fresh food division. Reporting directly to the CEO, David was involved in the sale of the business to Wesfarmers; re-organisation of the central support office and the development and delivery of new concept stores.
Initially, David enjoyed a successful and varied career with Marks and Spencer, UK. David’s experiences would be summarised by: delivering top quartile commercial results; achieving highly committed and energised teams and building key relationships to facilitate major change programs.
As a coach, David has an ability to build trust quickly, enabling safe exploration of the topics that lead to break-throughs in performance. David has the ‘know how’ and capability to identify the heart of opportunities quickly, leading to accelerated improvement for individuals and businesses.
David is an MBA, graduating from Westminster Business School, London. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and a graduate of the Company Directors program. He is a qualified executive coach having completed the IEC program (Institute of Executive Coaching).
David has a young family and enjoys the challenges faced by his toddler daughter and younger son! He enjoys all sport, particularly soccer. David is a qualified soccer coach and has enjoyed coaching the under 12 team at Hampton, Victoria.
